Celebrated Ghanaian musician Rex Omar has called on the public not to blame people in the creative arts who have gotten into drug addiction.
According to Rex Omar, anyone could be in the position that some of these members of the creative arts find themselves.
Drug addiction among creative arts persons dates way back and has been one of the nemesis of some of these creative artists.

Citing some of the reasons creatives get into drugs, the veteran musician, intimated that drug addiction is a very serious issue and perhaps shyness and pressure from society could be a major catalyst that ushers some creatives get into drug use.

He explained that most creatives are highly emotional and sometimes shy hence they may resort to illicit drugs to quell the shyness.
“Most creatives are highly emotional and what people don’t know is most of them are also highly very shy. So if they don’t have it naturally, they always need something to be able to take it to that realm where the creativity can come in handy”.
He further cautioned other creatives to be careful of their actions because anyone could fall a victim hence they must take precaution.

“I will advise those who have not yet fallen victim. People can get into the industry clean, succeed clean and live their lives. The advice is exercise, do a lot of brisk walk and meditate”.
A lot of Ghanaian creative talents have fallen to the gun of drug addiction and it has ruined both their careers and lives.
One name that already comes to mind is versatile rapper, Okomfo Kwadee who has seen his musical career hit a nose dive because of drug addiction.
