Rashford Shines Under Emery

Marcus Rashford, on loan at Aston Villa from Manchester United, is stepping up his game thanks to Unai Emery. In a recent match against Liverpool, which ended in a 2-2 draw, Rashford started for the first time at Villa and looked strong. Rashford Flourishes Under Emery’s Guidance.

Just before this, he had already impressed with his play against Ipswich Town. In the match with Liverpool, he set up a goal that was called offside. He also almost scored from a distance when Liverpool’s keeper Alisson wandered out of his area.

Better Off-the-Ball Work

While everyone knows Rashford is great with the ball, his work without it really stood out. Former Liverpool player Danny Murphy noted on Matchday Live that Emery is helping Rashford fix a weak spot in his game.

“Rashford looked good—fresh and ready to play. He caused trouble for Liverpool,” Murphy said. “With the ball, he’s always a threat. But now, when he loses it, he quickly gets back on defense. That wasn’t happening before.”

Murphy praised Rashford’s explosive style while stressing his new ability to follow through on defensive duties. He noted Emery’s high standards, saying, “Rashford knows he has to perform or he won’t start. The manager is clear about what he wants, and that helps.”

A New Start Under a Tough Manager

Emery brought Rashford to Villa knowing it wouldn’t be easy to help him reach his potential. But things are moving along quickly. Tim Sherwood, a former manager at Villa, agreed with Murphy, saying that Emery has made Rashford’s role simpler while still pushing him to work hard.

“He’s telling Rashford to go out and play, but he can’t just save energy for when he has the ball. Our team needs everyone to put in the effort,” Sherwood said.

He added, “When you lose the ball, sprint back. The first 10 yards of running can save the whole team a lot of energy.”

Keeping It Going

Rashford’s early days at Villa look promising, but Sherwood thinks he needs to keep it up. “The signs are good, but we need to see it more often,” he said. “The key thing is he seems happy playing for Aston Villa. A smile says a lot.”

With Emery’s strong support, Rashford is becoming a more well-rounded player. If he keeps this up, his time at Villa could change everything for him. Rashford Flourishes Under Emery’s Guidance.
