Ghanaian Piesie Esther, a gospel artist, has counseled her fellow members of the gospel music community not to utilize financial gain as their main reason for holding concerts because they have a greater calling.
She believes that winning people for Christ is their purpose and should always be their major objective. And that although gospel performances may result in some degree of financial success, the spiritual significance of their work should always come first rather than concentrating on the profits.
While attending the opening of her third annual Flora Made By Grace event, Piesie Esther—who is also the 2023 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Gospel Artiste of the Year—urged her colleagues to refocus in an exclusive interview with Graphic Showbiz.
“The essence of Gospel music is to spread the Word of God and lead people to salvation. While it’s important to be sustainable in the industry, Gospel musicians should never lose sight of their higher calling—to win souls and bring people closer to Christ,” she shared.

She added “It’s easy to get caught up in numbers, but we have to remember that we are in this to glorify God. When we think about putting concerts together, the focus should not be on making money but on making a difference in people’s lives.”
Piesie Esther also revealed to Graphic Showbiz that she will be offering free admission to her upcoming Flora Made By Grace performance, which is set for November 3, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
She said that this year’s concert will be free of charge, in contrast to prior years when tickets were sold, as a means of giving back to the gospel music industry and expressing her gratitude for the support she has gotten over the years.
“I’m excited to bring this event to the people and I believe it will be a time of great worship and inspiration. This year’s concert is particularly special to me. For the past two decades, I have been supported by the industry, my fans and everyone who has believed in me. This free concert is a way to thank everyone who has made it possible for me to be where I am today.
“I’ve been in this industry for more than 20 years, and through it all, I have been blessed. This is my way of saying thank you to God and everyone who has contributed to my success,” she added.
