The Head Pastor of Calvary Charismatic Centre Eagles’ Temple (CCC), Cape Coast, Rev. Dr. Ike Hawkson has challenged Christians to yearn for a personal relationship with God rather than going after prophecies.
He said most Christians have developed prophetic interests and consistently prefer seeking after prophecies to the detriment of their personal development and relationship with God.
Rev. Dr. Ike Hawkson made this passionate appeal during the launch of the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Calvary Charismatic Centre, Eagles’ Temple in Cape Coast.
He said he believes in prophecy however God is much interested in having a personal intimacy with Christians through His word.
“… God wants to meet people personally, that’s why he gave us His spirit and so, we trained them both the pastors and the members to know that God is God who wants to reach individuals. He doesn’t want any intermediates or something like that. When the word of God is pushed in the right place, you don’t need a prophecy to change your life, the word of God will change your life because the word of God is the sure prophecy” he said.
Rev. Dr. Ike Hawkson also used the opportunity to appeal to all Ghanaians especially, politicians to eschew things that have the tendency to ruin the peace Ghana is currently enjoying.
Calvary Charismatic Centre, Eagles’ Temple, Cape Coast was established in 1998 by Rev. Dr. Ike Hawkson as a branch of Calvary Charismatic Centre founded by Pastor Ransford Obeng in 1984 at Kumasi.
Rev. Dr. Ike Hawkson said as the church celebrates its 25th Anniversary celebration more community assistance programs have been rolled out to help the church achieve its mandates.
This he said includes but is not limited to serving the community, caring for widows and prisoners, and donating blood when needed among others.
“In our launching, we have a lot of activities and one of the major things is to open a clinic that will help some of the members and also serve the community. At least there are a few things, not the major thing they can run to the church not to be prayed for only, but also have medical attention. By the grace of God, the Lord has endowed this church with a lot of medical personnel and so, we are coming up with this so that they can also bring their talent or grace upon them to bear for the benefit of all. Even though we will not relax on still opening churches. We also have in mind to train pastors in a kind of bible seminary.”
