Since he plays the antagonist in the upcoming film Resonance, actor Prince David Osei has once again been accused of being limited to portraying ‘bad boy’ roles.
However, the celebrated actor refutes such notion, highlighting his versatility and ability to play a variety of characters with great skill.
Prince David stated in a conversation with Graphic Showbiz that he was chosen for the position purely on the basis of his ability and proficiency in interpreting such roles, not because it was the only thing he could do.
“Often playing the villain in movies is not enough reason to label me as only a ‘bad boy’ actor.
“Actors such as Robert De Niro and Al Pacino most often play bad guys a lot but that is not all they are capable of doing.

“Most often in movies, there is always an antagonist and a protagonist. If I am often chosen to play an antagonist, it only means I am good at what I do, and that’s why they keep casting me in that role”, he explained.
Prince David plays a wealthy mobster in Resonance who poses as a music producer.
He falls in love with Fella Makafui, a gifted but impoverished young woman who aspires to be a famous singer, but tries to use her to further his own selfish sexual ambitions.
Resonance also features Salma Mumin, Anthony Woode, Peter Ritchie, Comedian Waris, Habiba Sinare, and the 2019 Ghana Movie Awards Best Actress of the Year.
Maxmore Adebayor Bakare directed the movie, which Raymond Kombat produced. Fella Makafui Productions handled executive production.
Resonance will open in Royal Cinema, SG Mall in Kumasi on June 8, 2024. It is now showing at Silverbird Cinemas at Accra Mall and West Hills Mall in Accra.
