Primetime Limited, organisers of the famous National Science and Maths Quiz has provided a background to the postponement of the Adisadel College – Prempeh College – Mfantsipim School quarter-final clash.
The contest which was popularly dubbed the “El Clasico” of this year’s competition could not take place due to some violent clashes that occurred at the SGS Auditorium at the University of Cape Coast.
“The postponement became necessary, following a disruption caused by an uncontrollable crowd that forced its way into the auditorium, despite several measures we had put in place to manage the numbers.”, the statement read.
Primetime, in a statement dated October 31 2025, revealed that it allocated a quota of 50 supporters to each school and provided three outdoor screens with canopies and chairs.
According to the statement, the organisers prepared two seminar rooms to livestream the contest and arranged for police and campus security to maintain order.
Primetime also apologised to participating schools, fans and stakeholders who were disappointed at the turn of events.
The organisers rehashed their utmost commitment to ensuring the protection of life and property, and promised to create a safe environment for all participants in the competition.
The contest is currently ongoing today, Friday, October 31, 2025 to determine which of the schools progresses to the semi-final stage of the country’s most successful quiz competition.
