The Police have rejected media reports tying the disappearance of Rhodaline Amoah-Darko, a Lands Commission staff, to her husband, Dr. Wilberforce Aggrey.
According to the authorities, no such evidence tying him to his wife’s disappearance existed as of Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
It is therefore requesting a halt to such reporting in order to allow them to continue their investigations.
“It must be placed on record that, as of today, Wednesday, October 27, 2021, the police have no evidence linking Dr. Aggrey to the disappearance of Rhodaline.”
The Police confirmed this in a statement released on October 27, 2021.
Meanwhile, it said that it obtained a court order for the spouse to undergo a psychiatric examination.
It noted that this was essential due to his confusing utterances on the subject.
“As part of the investigation into the disappearance of Rhodaline Amoah-Darko, a staff of the Lands Commission in the Ashanti Region, the Police on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, secured a court order to refer the husband of Rhodalne, Dr. Wilberforce Aggrey, for a psychiatric examination due to some incoherent statements from him on the matter.”
The statement added that: “Investigation is still ongoing and at this point, we are unable to disclose any information to the public on the matter.”
Rhodaline Amoah-Darko is a Land Administration Officer of the Lands Commission of Ghana in the Ashanti Region.
She was scheduled to appear on Friday, August 27, 2021, on Nhyira FM’s morning broadcast to educate the public about land-related concerns prior to her abduction.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that she and a coworker were abducted from their workplace by unidentified individuals.
