The driver who hit and murdered seven children in Ankaase, Oti Region’s Krachi West District, has been apprehended.
“The driver is now in police custody for further investigations to be carried out,” the Municipal Chief Executive for Krachi West, Emmanuel Jalula Kajal, said to Citi News.
Six of the pupils died on the scene following the tragedy on Thursday, while the seventh died from injuries at the Krachi West Government Hospital.
The children, all students, were killed as they went home from school by a saloon car.

Five of the victims were related, including two twins.
Mr. Kajal said that the 7 girls would be buried in a mass funeral this evening at Ankaase.
