The Ghanaian woman who is preparing to break the record for the longest singing marathon, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, is pleading with the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) not to turn out the lights during that time.
She clarified that although her team has secured a standby generator and made sufficient arrangements, she would greatly appreciate it if ECG provided power for her.
“I am between two giants so I’m not scared of what I’m about to say. Preparations are advanced and we are making standby generators available. I’m even told there’s something called UPS to enable smooth change in case the light go out but ECG, please, during this time, please spare me.
“Let’s pile it up to at least second week of January. So I’m pleading, ECG from 23rd to the end of December, because we don’t know when we are stopping this because we can just get carried away, please hold the power for us,” she said during a press conference at Akwaaba Village yesterday.
