The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced a rescheduling of two categories of allowances initially slated for payment in November 2025, following a technical challenge encountered during the final payroll processing for the month.
In a statement issued and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Cephas N. Dosoo, the Department said the affected allowances—largely impacting workers within the education sector—could not be processed as planned due to an unexpected system hitch.
According to the statement, the technical issue emerged during the concluding stages of the November 2025 payroll run, forcing the Department to halt the allowance component to prevent delays in the release of salaries for all Government of Ghana employees.
“To avoid any further delays in the payment of November 2025 salaries for all government workers, the processing of these allowances was paused,” the CAGD clarified.
The Department has, however, moved quickly to reassure affected members of the public. It confirmed that the issue is currently being resolved and that all outstanding November allowances will be fully processed and paid alongside the December 2025 salaries. The December salaries are scheduled to be disbursed on December 18, 2025.

CAGD emphasized its commitment to efficient payroll management and transparent communication, noting that while occasional technical challenges may arise, every effort is made to ensure that workers’ earnings are not unduly disrupted.
Stakeholders, particularly employees in the education sector, have been encouraged to remain calm as the Department works to finalize the correction in time for the December payroll cycle.
