Parliament has approved the first two sets of ministerial appointments made by President John Mahama following the nominees’ appearance before the Appointments Committee.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has been confirmed as the Minister of Finance, Dr. Dominic Ayine as the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, and John Jinapor as the Minister of Energy.
The second set of ministerial nominees, including Haruna Iddrisu, Kwame Governs Agbodza, and Eric Opoku, have also been approved as the Minister of Education, Minister of Roads and Highways, and Minister of Food and Agriculture, respectively.
In other appointments, Dr. Ransford Anertey Abbey has been named the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board, succeeding Dr. Joseph Boahen Aidoo, who resigned from his position.
Anthony Kwasi Sarpong has been appointed as the Acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority following Julie Essiam’s resignation from her role as Commissioner-General.
Mr. Jones Borteye Applerh will serve as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, taking over after the dismissal of Maxwell Kofi Jumah by President John Mahama.
It is also important to note that the boards of various state institutions have been dissolved to pave the way for new boards to be established.
