The Supreme Court has ordered investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas to appear in open Court to face former Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Mr Nyantakyi petitioned the Supreme Court in May of this year to overturn an order by the Accra High Court ordering Anas Aremeyaw Anas to testify in camera.
According to Nyantakyi, the High Court’s decision was incorrect, and he petitioned the Supreme Court to make the investigative journalist’s testimony public.
The acclaimed investigative journalist shall appear in court and testify publicly as a prosecution witness, according to a judgement issued by the Supreme Court on Tuesday presided over by Justice Baffoe-Bonnie.
Background
In March 2021, Nyantakyi appeared in the Accra High Court and was charged with three counts.

According to the document filed by the Attorney General’s office, the disgraced football administrator faces allegations of conspiracy to commit fraud, fraud, and corruption by a public authority.
This was after Nyantakyi was purportedly caught in Anas’ ‘Number 12’ exposé accepting financial gifts and peddling influence.
As a result, he resigned as GFA President, as well as his positions as FIFA Council Member and CAF 1st Vice President.
