The National Service Authority (NSA) has officially released PIN codes for 132,393 eligible final-year students across the country to begin the registration process for the 2025/2026 national service year.
According to the Authority, the figures were derived from submissions made by 100 accredited tertiary institutions, marking a notable improvement in data transparency and integrity.
The release represents a 26% reduction compared to the average numbers recorded over the last three years and a 36% drop when compared specifically to the 2022/2023 service year.
The NSA attributes the decline to stricter validation protocols and enhanced vetting procedures, which have eliminated inflated or ineligible entries, ensuring only legitimate candidates are mobilized.
Out of the total 135,990 names submitted by 122 tertiary institutions, 3,597 graduates from 22 unaccredited institutions have been excluded.
These institutions remain unrecognized by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), and their graduates will not be processed unless the NSA receives verifiable proof confirming regularized accreditation.
The NSA is calling on all affected institutions to urgently engage GTEC and regularize their accreditation within 30 days to avoid disruption to their graduates’ service deployment.
“The goal is to ensure a smooth and credible national service process,” the statement emphasized, adding that all institutional accreditation data used for the selection process had been cross-verified by GTEC.
In addition to the main batch of PIN codes issued, the NSA is currently finalizing the release of 908 PINs for private applicants, which include: Ghanaian students who studied abroad, Deferred applicants, and defaulters who are now eligible for service.
These individuals are advised to contact NSA support channels if they are unable to access their PINs by June 24, 2025.
The NSA reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and efficient service deployment while urging all prospective personnel to visit the official www.nsa.gov.gh portal for updates and further instructions.
