The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled November 4, 2023, as the date for its presidential primaries to pick a flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.
However, if more than five candidates file to run in the primaries, the party will call a Special Congress on August 26.
The presidential primary nomination season will begin on May 26 and end on June 24, 2023.
In addition, the party has declared that parliamentary primaries will take place in February 2024.
Between December 20, 2023 and January 4, 2024, nominations will be accepted.
This implies that the party’s Presidential Candidate will be chosen before its legislative candidates.
