John Okafor, a veteran Nollywood actor and comedian well known as Mr. Ibu, has reportedly passed away.
According to accounts from close insiders, the 62-year-old actor, who was well-known for his humorous flair, passed away at Evercare Hospital in Lagos.
Since last year, the seasoned actor has been fighting disease, going through several operations, and getting continuous medical attention in an effort to heal. The family said that in November, Mr. Ibu had his leg amputated.
Mr. Ibu’s career in the Nigerian film industry, also referred to as Nollywood, was distinguished by a multitude of noteworthy roles that won over viewers from both domestic and foreign markets.

He became well-known because to his unique look and contagious sense of humor, winning him a place in the hearts of admirers of all ages.
He has acted in films such as Issakaba, Police Recruit, Mr. Ibu in London, and A Fool at Forty.
Fans have been sharing their condolences on social media following the news of his passing, expressing their sadness and remembering the actor with nostalgia for his classic roles.
Actors from Nollywood have started giving their homages. Mercy Johnson wrote, “Everything is good.I hope you rest well, sir.”
