Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, often known as NAPO, has come under fire from Kumawood comedic actor Kwaku Manu for remarks he made equating President Akufo-Addo’s contributions to Ghana’s development with those of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Recall that on July 9, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, declared that President Akufo-Addo had contributed more to Ghana’s development than any other president in the nation’s history.

In a video that has gone viral thus far, Kwaku Manu vehemently defended Kwame Nkrumah’s legacy and accomplishments in reaction to NAPO’s remarks.
“Kufuor capped the dollar to One Cedi, but he never compared himself to Kwame Nkrumah. Kwame Nkrumah? Someone who did a shoe factory… it wasn’t by mouth, the factory was working. We were doing car tyres at that time. We gained independence with Kwame Nkrumah. He did Tema Harbour… show me a government like him. Nkrumah built the universities and most Senior High Schools, how do you compare yourself to him,” Kwaku Manu fired back.
The Kumawood actor questioned Kwame Nkrumah’s legacy and how any current government could be compared to it.
He underlined that the late former president’s accomplishments went beyond platitudes and transformed the nation.
