The National Service Authority (NSA) has taken a major step toward revamping its digital operations with the inauguration of a Transition and Implementation Steering Committee. The 12-member body will oversee the complete redesign and deployment of a new service platform to replace the current system deemed unsatisfactory after an official audit.
The decision follows a directive from the Office of the President, which in June this year ordered the suspension of the old deployment platform, citing inefficiencies and lapses in service delivery. The contract for that system expired in August 2025 and will not be renewed, according to the Governing Board.
Announcing the committee in a statement signed by Board Chairman Emmanuel Okai Mintah, the NSA said the new platform will become the backbone of the Authority’s operations, covering postings, payroll, allowances, and personnel management. The goal, the statement stressed, is to deliver efficiency, security, and transparency.
The steering committee is chaired by Dr. Wisdom Atiwoto, Director of Research, Statistics and Information Management at the Ministry of Health and a member of the NSA Board. It also includes NSA officials, board members, and external experts drawn from the ICT, legal, banking, and software engineering sectors.

Among them are NSA Acting Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh, MIS Head Benjamin Freeman Kusi, Internal Audit Head Jennifer Opong, ICT specialist Dr. Stephan Nwolley, legal practitioner Koku Abotsi, and banker Nabil Abubakar Hussayn. The committee secretary is Regina Obenewa Penrose, Esq.
According to the Board, the committee will guide the phased migration from the legacy platform, supervise the development of the new digital system, and engage relevant partners to ensure a smooth transition. Importantly, the NSA assured that there will be no disruption to allowances or postings for national service personnel during the process.
“The reformed platform will not only improve service delivery but also provide real-time verification of postings and strengthen accountability across the scheme,” the statement read.
The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment will provide oversight, while updates on the committee’s progress will be shared with the public.
