Speaking exclusively to YU Planet, Stade Rennais’ veteran midfielder Nemanja Matić (35) had the chance to tell a few stories about his time in England: “Amongst players who were always late, there was Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho, on top of a few others.“
Matic added Chelsea players were ‘more professional’ than Man United players
Matić even compared his experience in Manchester to the one he had at his previous club, Chelsea: “At Chelsea, the players behaved like professionals. Always on time, never late to training, while at United it happened every day!”

As a reminder, the Serbian signed for Chelsea back in 2009 from Slovak club FC VSS Kosice, before rejoining his former manager José Mourinho at Manchester United in the Summer of 2017.

Perhaps Matić’s appreciation for punctuality and professionalism can at least partially explain the difference in longevity between him and his French ex-teammate, as while he is still regularly starting games for Rennes, Paul Pogba (30) is risking a four-year ban after testing positively for elevated testosterone levels.

Jadon Sancho (23), on the other hand, hasn’t played a professional game of football since the end of August, though he still has many years ahead of him to get back on the right track.
