The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to deliver what it calls the “True State of the Nation Address” at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) today, March 20.
The address will be made by NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and is likely to oppose President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s recent “State of the Nation Address” on March 8.
The National Communications Bureau of the NDC will organize the speech, which will focus on the economy and the circumstances that led to Ghana’s recent IMF bailout.
Meanwhile, the Minority in Parliament has questioned the government’s claim that Ghana will be granted IMF board clearance by the end of March 2023.

According to Cassiel Ato Forson, Minority Leader, the administration has failed to meet the financial commitments relating to the IMF bailout, including the board documentation.
Mr. Forson also claimed that China has not committed to offer Ghana with financial assurances, making the IMF board’s approval of the country’s bailout before the end of this month doubtful.
The event is sure to pique the interest of both supporters and critics of the opposing party.
