George Opare Addo and Dr. Hanna Louisa Bissiw retained their positions as National Youth Organiser and Women’s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress respectively when the party held its 10th Youth and Women’s Conference in Cape Coast.
George Opare Addo popularly known as ‘Pablo’ garnered 533 votes while his sole opponent, Ernest Yaw Brogya Genfi had 508 votes.
The total votes cast were 1043, rejected ballots 2, valid votes cast 1041, and spoilt ballot 0.
Also, Dr. Hanna Louisa Bissiw took the lead as women’s organizer with 433 votes with her sole opponent, Margaret Ansei Magoo losing to 362 votes.
For the positions of 1st and 2nd Deputies of the youth wing of the NDC, Osman Abdulai Ayariga and Ruth Dela Seddoh were elected. Osman led with 373 votes and Ruth Dela Seddoh followed with 313 to secure the positions.
The results of the just-ended elections declared at the dawn of Sunday, December 11, 2022, also saw two new entrants as Deputy Women Organisers: Abigail Elorm Mensah and Felicia Dzifa Tegah.
Abigail Elorm Mensah polled 341 votes while Felicia Dzifa Tegah obtained 260 votes.
The 10th Youth and Women’s Conference 2022 took place on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the New Examination Centre of the University of Cape Coast.
It was with the focus “Rallying victory 2024; Ghana’s hope.”
A member of the Communications Team of the NDC, Miss Gabriella Tetteh who spoke to ATL FM NEWS ahead of the elections indicated that she is optimistic that NDC will likely come into power at the end of the 2024 elections.
However, she said to ensure their win, it will require the party to be observant during the 2024 polls.
The 10th Youth and Women’s Conference 2022 comes ahead of the National Executive congress slated to take place at the same venue on December 17.
