The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set Saturday, May 13, 2023, to hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries to elect its flagbearer and parliamentary candidates for the 2024 elections at all 276 constituencies’ voting centers.
The timetable outlined by the party at a press briefing on Wednesday, January 18 indicates that the opening of nominations will take place from Monday 22nd -24th February 2023.
Interested persons for the parliamentary primaries can access the nomination forms online for download on the party’s website at a non-refundable fee of GHC 5,000 to be paid online through an internal payment platform of the party.
Those who pick forms for the parliamentary positions are to subsequently submit the forms at a non-refundable filing fee of GHC 40,000 from Monday 20 to March 22, 2023.
Fee charges for picking up forms for the presidential primaries at the general secretary’s office is at a non-refundable fee of GH¢30,000 to be paid by banker’s draft. Filing fees of GH¢500,000 with evidence of payment are also to be made to the banker’s draft on the same date for the parliamentary primaries.
Interested female candidates and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will however pay 50% of the approved fee for both presidential and parliamentary primaries.
Vetting follows on March 27 to March 29, 2023, with an appeal to be held between 30th March and 6th April 2023 followed by the main election on May 13.
