The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in Birim South District has informed artisans, customers, and shoppers about the COVID-19 vaccine’s safety.
The aim of the education is to assuage public worries regarding the COVID-19 vaccine’s potential side effects.
The NCCE team went to Akyem Swedru businesses such as Lad Enterprise, Mevelyn Fashion, Vido Beauty Salon, Gladi Fashion, and Mehwefo Tailoring to inform the public that the AstraZeneca vaccine was effective for inoculation.
In separate meetings with the artisans and their customers, Mr Yaw Somuah, the NCCE’s Birim South District Director, said minor side effects such as body ache, fever, sweating, and fatigue should be awaited, as suggested by the vaccine manufacturer’s leaflet.
He urged the public to disregard claims of ill effects by people who claimed to have been vaccinated against the virus during the exercise’s first period.
When the exercise is carried out in the remaining districts or provinces, he advised citizens to get inoculated to defend themselves from the deadly virus.
Mr Christian Oko Niikoi, Assistant Civic Education Officer, also advised the artisans to continue wearing nose masks, washing their hands under flowing water, and maintaining social distance.
