The Ghana National Service Authority (NSA) has announced that payments for outstanding allowances owed to National Service personnel will commence today, February 13, 2025.
The Acting Director of the GNSA, Felix Gyamfi, confirmed this development, attributing it to a directive from President John Dramani Mahama aimed at addressing months of delayed payments.
Speaking on Joy FM’s PM Express on February 12, Gyamfi assured service personnel that arrears from August to December 2024 would be cleared, bringing long-awaited relief to thousands of young graduates who have struggled financially.
“The President took swift action once we presented the figures to him. He ordered the complete payment of all arrears to ensure service personnel receive what is rightfully theirs,” Gyamfi stated.

He also criticized past inefficiencies in the scheme, blaming corruption and mismanagement for the persistent delays in allowance disbursement over the past eight years.
“Service personnel have suffered due to systemic corruption and poor administration. This issue should never have persisted for this long,” he added.
Gyamfi further hinted at a possible increase in the current ¢715 allowance, revealing that President Mahama is considering an upward adjustment to reflect current economic realities.
With the payments now set to roll out, service personnel across the country are expected to receive their overdue allowances in the coming days.
