A group of National Service Personnel at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have threatened a possible strike action if the National Service Scheme continues to delay in the payment of their two months arrears.
There has been a delay in the payment of the National Service Personnel allowances for the month of March and April, 2022.
According to these service personnel, the consistent delay in the payment of the National Service allowances has brought indescribable hardship since most of them depend on the allowances for survival.

Notable among these agitated National Service Personnel is a teaching assistant at the School of Biomedical Sciences here in UCC, Mr. Bless Amankwaah who describes the delay in the payment as unjust and therefore called for swift payment of the arrears owed them.
He noted that “this is a call to draw the attention of the authority to the injustice that has been done to the National service personnel. It is unheard of for the youth to work for two to three months, without receiving allowances. I think it is a form of injustice and must not be carried on”.
