Napoli Nears Championship with Inter Milan Held to Draw

Inter Milan’s grip on the Serie A title slipped after a dramatic 2-2 draw with Lazio at the San Siro, giving Napoli a clearer shot at the championship. Despite having the chance to secure the title outright, Inter couldn’t hold their lead. Veteran forward Pedro came off the bench and delivered a stunning performance, scoring twice to cancel out goals from Yann Bisseck and Denzel Dumfries. His second, a last-minute penalty, leveled the match and left Inter’s title fate hanging by a thread. Meanwhile, Napoli were unable to capitalize, settling for a goalless draw against a struggling Parma side. That result still puts them within striking distance of the trophy, especially with Inter facing a tricky fixture against Como next weekend. If Napoli can match Inter’s result, the title will be theirs.

ICYMT: Mayo’s McStay Accepts Blame After Unexpected Defeat

Juventus and Roma Stay in the Hunt

--Advertisements--

Juventus did what they had to do to maintain their position in the top four. Second-half goals from Nicolas Gonzalez and substitute Dusan Vlahovic helped them secure a 2-0 win over Udinese. Roma stayed close behind, just a point off fourth, after beating AC Milan 3-1. The match turned in Roma’s favor after Milan went down to 10 men, and goals from Gianluca Mancini, Leandro Paredes, and Bryan Cristante sealed the deal.

Relegation Battle Heats Up

Lecce gave their survival hopes a major boost with a 1-0 win at home against Torino thanks to Ylber Ramadani’s goal. Empoli matched that result with a 3-1 win at Monza, who have already been relegated. Venezia, however, are still in danger after a 3-0 defeat to Cagliari left them two points from safety.

Drama in LaLiga as Villarreal Stuns Barcelona

In Spain, Villarreal shocked the champions Barcelona with a thrilling 3-2 comeback win. Tajon Buchanan was the hero, scoring a late winner after goals from Ayoze Perez, Santi Comesana, and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez. The win secured Villarreal a Champions League spot. Meanwhile, Real Madrid closed in on Barca after Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham scored in a 2-0 win over a nine-man Sevilla.

Other Notable Results Across Spain

Atletico Madrid kept hold of third place with a dominant 4-1 win over Real Betis, featuring a brace from Julian Alvarez. Athletic Bilbao stayed in the top-four hunt with a narrow 1-0 win at Valencia. Celta Vigo’s Europa League hopes took a hit with a 2-1 loss to Rayo Vallecano, while Osasuna’s 2-0 win over Espanyol added to the relegation drama. At the bottom, Dani Raba’s goal gave Leganes a crucial win at Las Palmas, and Alaves secured safety with a 1-0 victory over Real Valladolid. Elsewhere, Real Sociedad edged Girona 3-2, and Getafe snatched a 2-1 away win at Real Mallorca.
