Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate to the flagbearer for NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawamia has apologized for comments he made on Tuesday, July 9th regarding President Akufo-Addo’s performance compared to Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
In a statement issued today, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh emphasized he never meant to disrespect the former President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah or any other former head of state for that matter.
Though he said the comments were a true reflection of his personal opinion about President Akufo-Addo’s impact relative to other Presidents, he says he “regrets any discomfort caused.”
