The Chief Executive Officer of the Nations Builders Corp (NABCo) Dr. Ibrahim Anyars says that the three-year NABCO program was not unproductive as being speculated by many.
According to him, some provisions are being made for the absorption of graduate trainees.
The NABCo trainees who completed the three-year program in October this year were directed to go on mandatory leave causing many Ghanaians to wonder about the fate of the young graduates.
Following the announcement, some individuals have tagged the program as a mere vote-buying scheme meant to ‘deceive’ the beneficiaries into voting.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, however in an interview during his recent tour of the Ashanti Region stated that over 49,000 beneficiaries of NABCo have been integrated into the public sector or have become entrepreneurs after gaining the needed experience.
Speaking in an interview monitored by ATL FM NEWS, Dr. Ibrahim Anyars reiterated that the remaining trainees who continue to stay within the talent pool will gradually be absorbed into various sectors.
“By August what we had is that over 72 thousand people had filled the career pathway and for us, these were people who had given an indication that they were still very actively engaged in the program. For others who did not out of the over 92,000 what they suggested was that they had moved on to something.” He said
He further said for those who do not opt-out and stay within the talent pool and notified of this by the exit that “they still have an opportunity through their module implementation partner.”
He emphasized that “All those for example in 2018 who came unto the scheme for the Heal Ghana mode, as we speak there isn’t a qualified nurse, registered by the nursing and midwifery council who is still with NABCO”

The NABCo initiative was launched in 2018 by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to employ100, 000 jobless graduates.
The program operates seven modules designed to meet the pressing needs of the nation while providing jobs for the teeming youth who have received tertiary education but are struggling to find jobs.
