According to Ibrahim Anyars, the National Coordinator of the Nation Builders’ Corps (NABCO), the government would disclose specifics on the proposed permanent arrangements for trainees under the program in the 2022 budget.
According to him, the NABCO program is still in transition, and all individuals who have remained on the program for the previous three years and are on the career path will be offered permanent employment.
“We are at the stage where we are going through the transition process with the NABCo trainees and as a responsible government, the President has directed that all the NABCo trainees can remain at post until permanent arrangements are made and what that means is that all those who have stayed with us and come through the career path transition process, they will keep doing what they have done over the past three years,” he said.
“The budget is coming up on Wednesday and further details will be issued then,” he added.
He said that the NABCO administration has already begun discussions with the different Module Implementation Partners (MIPs) about permanently employing the trainees, stressing that as soon as confirmations and conditions are agreed upon, the affected trainees would be promoted to permanent workers.
He said that the trainees must continue to work till these agreements are completed.
On Monday, the secretariat issued a notification instructing all trainees to continue on their work until the permanent arrangements are finalized.
The notice came after many assumed that the program had completed and that participants would leave to pursue other personal interests.
Meanwhile, on the topic of delayed allowance payment, Dr. Anyars said that there were certain issues related to those who had not received their allowances for many months, therefore the secretariat prioritized payment of those allowances to those who were due around two months allowance.
He did, however, assure that payments to all trainees were being paid and would soon be reflected in the recipients’ accounts.
