The Africa Business Heroes (ABH 100) awards have selected renowned actress and television journalist Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku as an honoree for her unwavering support of the initiative since its start five years ago.
The Jack Ma Foundation’s premier charitable initiative in Africa, Africa Business Heroes is committed to supporting African entrepreneurs.
Among the notable people honored for their contributions to ABH’s purpose throughout the course of the five editions is Naa Ashorkor, who will come together for the Grand Summit and Finale on November 23 and 24 in Kigali, Rwanda.
In a statement, the organizers expressed their “delight in recognising the Broadcaster with Media General as one of those outstanding individuals whose efforts have impacted the program, propelling ABH to new heights through their unwavering dedication.”
At the Grand Summit and workshop, where leading entrepreneurs will compete in real time for the prestigious title of Africa’s Business Hero and a portion of the USD 1.5 million in unrestricted grant financing, Naa Ashorkor is slated to give a special speech.
Lucy Quist of the Bold New Normal, Fred Swaniker, the founder of the African Leadership Group, and Nuseir Yassin, the founder of Nas Daily, are among the notable speakers scheduled for the event. Additionally, there will be over fifty speakers from a variety of experiences in entrepreneurship, business, media, investment, and the ecosystem.

Using her wealth of knowledge, Naa Ashorkor guided the ABH 2021 Top 10 heroes to the Grand Finale during her time as a mentor on the TV program.
Regarding Naa Ashorkor
Born in Ghana, Nisirine Ashorkor Mensah-Doku works as an actor and broadcast journalist. She is a skilled content creator, TV producer, and compère.
As a postpartum health champion, Naa Ashorkor has also grown to be a fierce supporter of the sustainable development goals pertaining to girls’ education and their overall well-being.
Naa Ashorkor started her broadcasting career in 2008 as a youth and entertainment host. Since then, she has focused mostly on promoting women’s and children’s development.
Naa Ashorkor, who was named as one of the top 100 important women in Ghana, recently became a mentor in the Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative, the flagship philanthropic entrepreneur initiative for African entrepreneurs run by the Jack Ma Foundation.
In 2021, Naa Ashorkor debuted her flagship television program, “We Got This Africa,” which serves as a forum for African women to discuss and gain insight from one another’s unique experiences and hardships.
While she worked for GHone TV, she created and hosted Tales from the Powder Room.
The goal of this program, which catered to women in the 18–35 age range, was to provide answers for pressing problems that these women faced.
