The young Ghanaian, Seidu Rafiwu, is vying for the Guinness World Records title for the longest walk by an individual. He stated that his intention in accepting the challenge was to advocate for peace in advance of the elections in December.
Rafiwu set out on his expedition on Saturday, April 27, and finished his 383-kilometer trek from Techiman to Accra in 96 hours on foot.
He reached the pinnacle of his record attempt earlier on Tuesday, April 30, in Osu, Accra’s Independence Square.

Former teacher Rafiwu stated on Monday, May 6, on the Asaase Breakfast Show that he wants to pursue a career in the military.
“It is not easy, it was really painful, but I wanted us to have a peaceful election and the walkathon provided me the platform to preach peace.”
“We spoke to the Ghana Ambulance and the Ghana Police to help with an escort, and they did very well. I covered 254km in a four-day period from Accra to Techiman,” Rafiwu said.
