High life musician, Mr. Kwabena Owusu known in the Ghanaian entertainment circles as Asebu Amanfi has revealed he came by the popular name through his mentor, Mr. Alex Konadu with whom he played a highlife band.
Explaining, on ‘Adademu’, a musical show that appreciates old high life music and legends on ATL FM, the exact situation that caused the christening, he indicated that his exhibition of enormous strength when his band was on the road for shows caused it.
“Honestly speaking, the giant, Asebu Amanfi is not a family relative and I do not come from his lineage. What happened was that my master, Alex Konadu gave me the name because of the energy and strength I possess.”
“Generally, when we went to play shows and we were arranging our instruments, I could carry about four instruments at a time, hence he compared me to the giant Asebu Amanfi”, he added.
