Musician Fameye has mentioned that his haircut is a change in brand, but refuted claims that Nigerian superstar, Wizkid, influenced his decision to cut off his dreadlocks.
Fameye popped up on the music scene already rocking his dreadlocks, but within the last few days, things seemed to have changed as he set the internet ablaze with his new look, looking different with his dreadlocks trimmed off.
The “nothing I get” crooner, Fameye, explaining the rationale behind his new look on Accra base Joy Prime TV, Friday indicated that he was not influenced by Wizkid, but rather it is a strategy to change his brand.
“It is a process l am going through to improve my brand. I was rather motivated by what I am doing and wanted to change for it”.
Scores of his fans have also speculated that after seeing Wizkid and R2bees in a video trending on Facebook jamming to some of his looks affected him, hence informed his decision to change his looks.
Some entertainment pundits have reacted to the video saying the ‘Nothing I Get’ singer was influenced by his Nigerian counterpart to cut the dreadlocks.
However, Fameye has come out to also clear the air that Wizkid only showed him love and nothing else, but he is grateful for that.
“He just showed me love and support as a colleague in the industry and l appreciate that.
He also added that his decision to change his looks or hairstyle just coincided with whatever was happening but has no correlation with his decision to rebrand or chop off his dreadlocks.
“It is a coincidence that I changed my hairstyle within the same period but it has nothing to do with him,” he added.
