MTN Ghana foundation as part of it cooperate social responsibly has come to the aid of Bawjiase Polyclinic to help complete an ongoing accident and emergency unit ward.
This was made known when the foundation joined the Bawjiase Polyclinic to commemorate the World Malaria Day Celebration at the hospital’s premises.
The foundation as part of the activities also embarked on a sensitization education for the participants against the spread of malaria infection.
World Malaria Day is observed annually on 25 April to draw global attention on malaria, and its adverse and far-reaching impact on families, communities and societal development, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The theme for 2022 World Malaria Day Celebration is, “Harness innovation to reduce the malaria disease burden and save lives”, which focuses on devising an urgent scale up innovation and the deployment of new tools in the fight against malaria, while advocating for equitable access to malaria prevention and treatment all aimed at building health system resilience.
Speaking at the function, an Education Portofolio advisor at the MTN Foundation, Mr. Ebenezer Terkper indicated that his outfit chose to celebrate the day with the Bawjiase Polyclinic due to the existing relation between the two and further added that the foundation will do more to help the hospital.
“We chose Bawjiase Polyclinic because of the relationship that we have started and fortunately MTN Ghana Foundation Board has agreed to help them complete the accident and emergency unit. We are hoping to cement the relationship with this as well because for us as a foundation, national priority areas are our focus as well”.

The MTN Ghana Foundation was established in 2007 as a single purpose vehicle to drive all MTN’s CSR initiatives in the country. The Foundation currently has three focus areas – Health, Education and Economic Empowerment. The Foundation is set up as a separate legal entity with its own independent Board of Directors and Patrons who oversee the operations of the Foundation.
