ICT education is rapidly becoming the standard in every Ghanaian culture, and as a result, every community is working hard to establish their own ICT Center for the goal of teaching its young.
The community of Essuekyir’s desire for an ICT center for their Basic School cannot be overstated.
This is due to the fact that providing ICT infrastructure allows instructors to connect with pupils more effectively. It also aids in the planning of educational sessions. ICT infrastructure, on the other hand, aids in the efficient use of ICT software and hardware in the teaching and learning process, enhances teaching abilities, and promotes creative teaching, among other things.
In today’s world, the world is in the information technology era, and developing country governments must provide ICT centers. Unfortunately, governments are unable to accomplish so on their own.
With this in mind, the Youth With Focus (YWF), a non-governmental and non-profit organization, held a fundraising event in the Essuekyir School Park over the weekend in order to raise funds for the construction of an ICT Centre for the Essuekyir Basic School.
Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku nicknamed Ragga, the Member of Parliament for Cape North Area, who served as the event’s chairman, praised the YWF executives for coming up with such an initiative inside his constituency.
According to the MP, he hired Tech-Masters Consult to perform a study on the status of ICT courses in his Constituency’s elementary and secondary schools.

According to him, the results showed that 19 of the 28 schools included in the study had standard ICT laboratories but non-functional or no computers, while the other 9 schools had none. 17 of the 28 schools have some computers, whereas 11 do not have any computers at all. In terms of internet access, six schools out of the total of 28 have it.
“I myself have a goal of assisting my people in having more ICT Centers packed with functioning computers, and I personally consider this initiative as one of my own projects,” the legislator said.
The MP contributed Ghc5,000 to the project’s financing and promised additional assistance to ensure the project’s success.
Honourable Ben Manso, Assemblymember for the Essuekyir community, thanked the MP for his good gift and support for his electoral region, and promised his support for the initiative as well.
He also urged all Essuekyir residents to rally behind the initiative in order to ensure its success.
Residents of Essuekyir were overjoyed by the presence of their Member of Parliament, as well as his support and monthly trips to the area.
Family heads from all of the Essuekyir community’s families were in attendance.
