The Member of Parliament for the Cape Coast North Constituency, Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku has initiated a campaign dubbed THE OPERATION LIGHT UP CAPE COAST NORTH INITIATIVE.
The initiative which is to curb robbery incidents and also brighten the streets in the Cape Coast North Constituency is also in fulfillment of his promise to lighten up the constituency when voted into power.
At a ceremony to donate 200 streetlights to some communities and schools in the Cape Coast North Constituency, Dr. Minta Nyarko said the initiative was to ensure that the communities have enough lights to brighten up the streets at night.
Speaking in an interview with ATL FM NEWS after the donation, he indicated that the poor lightening situation in the constituency which has caused accidents and robbery attacks necessitated the initiative.
“We want to believe that if we should have streets lights at certain vantage points or across the Cape Coast North Constituency, these vices will come down and that motivated to us to come up with the initiative.”
He noted that the distribution of the lights was made to educational schools and assembly men to further mount them in their respective communities.
