The Member of Parliament for Asutifi South, Collins Dauda, has been placed in Police Custody for his alleged involvement in the disturbances at Kukuom, Ahafo Region.
The disturbance occurred during the Limited Voter Registration Exercise on May 11, 2024.
The Police in a statement indicated they have launched a search for other suspects in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, one person is said to have sustained injuries during the disturbance and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
The police in an earlier statement strongly condemned the acts of violence cited at various centres in Cape Coast in the Central Region, Kukuom in the Ahafo Region, and Adugyama in the Ashanti Region.
In this regard, the Police have made several arrests as investigations continue.
They are urging the public to refrain from disregarding the laws governing the registration process as persons found guilty will face the full rigorous of the law.
