The Central and Western Regional Branches of Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) have donated some personal protective items worth about 7,000 Cedis to the school to complement government efforts in controlling Covid 19 infections among students in Senior High Schools.
The items included 70 pieces of veronica buckets, 250 pieces of hand sanitizers, 70 washing Basins and 80 pieces of Paper Towels.
Central Regional President of MOBA, Dr Kenneth Aikins who spoke on behalf of the two branches during the presentation on Monday at the school indicated that the items donated were based on a needs assessment by two branches of MOBA on government’s provision of the protective items to the senior high schools.

“We decided to assist what the government brought through our small way. We wanted to make sure that every classroom had one Veronica bucket, and we were informed that there were about 61 classrooms so we did the needful of providing the Veronica buckets and washing basins and the tissue papers. And we also thought of adding the sanitizers to benefit the teaching and non-teaching staff as well” he added.
On his part, the headmaster of Mfantsipim School, Rev. Ebenezer Kobina Aidoo said the items had come in timely and assured they will be put to good use. He, however, urged individuals of other schools to also support their various schools in containing the virus among students.
Rev. Aidoo who spoke to ATLFMNEWS on the sidelines of the presentation said the school upon its reopening was expecting 1,466 students however, 39 of them were yet to report. “The number comprises of form 2’s and 3’s but collectively 39 of them have not reported and we will have to link with the parents to see what is happening. They keep coming daily and so we are sure that as time goes on they will all report.”
