On Monday, Microsoft Bing announced the introduction of the Bing Video Creator, which utilizes OpenAI’s Sora model to allow users to generate videos from text prompts.
While OpenAI typically restricts access to Sora’s video generation to paying customers, this integration into Microsoft Bing marks its first free availability.

Currently, the Bing Video Creator is not accessible on desktop, and video generation can take hours, even in “fast” mode, which is designed to be quicker.
Logged-in Microsoft account users can create up to 10 video clips for free, after which they must spend 100 Microsoft Rewards points per video. These points can be earned through Bing searches or purchases at the Microsoft Store—5 points are awarded for each PC search, capped at 150 points per day.
Users can queue up to three 5-second video generations at once, but there is no option to adjust the video length. Currently, videos are generated in a vertical 9:16 aspect ratio, likely aimed at sharing on platforms like TikTok or Instagram, with horizontal uploads expected soon.
