Meta is reportedly collaborating with the Italian luxury brand Prada to develop a pair of AI smart glasses, as reported by CNBC on Tuesday. The timeline for the public announcement of these smart glasses remains unclear.
This partnership with Prada indicates Meta’s intention to expand its AI smart glasses technology to more fashion brands beyond its existing relationship with eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica. While Meta has primarily worked with EssilorLuxottica and its various brands, Prada is not owned by the company, though it has relied on EssilorLuxottica for eyewear production for decades, recently renewing their partnership.
