The defamation suit of Martha Ankomah against Kumawood star, Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as Lil Win, is scheduled for a hearing on July 31.
This follows a Case Management Conference overseen by Justice Forson Agyapong Baah at the High Court in Accra on July 25.
Due to Lil Win’s absence and lack of legal representation at the previous session, the judge has ordered that he be notified of the upcoming hearing and court proceedings through regular channels.

Ghanaian actress, Martha Ankomah sues Kumawood star Lil Win
The lawsuit stems from a viral video where Lil Win allegedly made defamatory remarks about Martha Ankomah, questioning her significance in the film industry and making accusations regarding her attitude towards Kumawood actors and storylines.
Filed on February 14, 2024, Ankomah’s lawsuit seeks GH¢5 million in damages for defamation, compensatory damages for harm to her reputation, aggravated damages due to the malicious nature of the statements, an apology, retraction of the defamatory words, and an injunction to prevent further defamatory statements by Lil Win.
Ankomah denies the accusations made by Lil Win, asserting that she has never looked down on Kumawood or its actors. She emphasizes her longstanding career in the film industry, ambassadorial roles, and the impact of Lil Win’s statements on her reputation.

In the writ, Ankomah highlights her achievements as a respected actress in both Ghanaian and Nigerian film productions over more than 20 years. She previously served as a brand ambassador for GTP and currently holds ambassadorial roles with other brands.
Lil Win, known for his work as an actor, musician, and comedian, has also been involved in educational initiatives as the founder and director of Great Minds School.
The case is set to proceed with Ankomah seeking legal redress for what she perceives as damaging and false statements made by Lil Win.
