Mark Travers completes transfer to Everton from old club as the Republic of Ireland goalkeeper finalises a four-year contract with the Toffees. The 26-year-old leaves Bournemouth to join Everton for a reported £4 million plus add-ons, committing his future at Goodison Park until the summer of 2029.

Travers Shares His Excitement About the Move

Speaking to evertontv, Travers shared his excitement about starting a new chapter with Everton, saying he feels the size and history of the club as soon as he arrived. He highlighted the passionate fanbase, the new stadium, and the club’s direction as reasons for his enthusiasm. Travers described this transfer as a fresh start and said he is eager to get going with his new team.

Ready to Compete with Pickford

Travers, who has earned four caps for Ireland, made 82 appearances for Bournemouth over nine years, including loan spells at Swindon, Stoke, and Middlesbrough. Now, he looks forward to challenging England’s number one Jordan Pickford for a spot, embracing the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level in the Premier League. Travers praised Pickford’s quality for club and country and said he is looking forward to working together while pushing each other in training every day.

Commitment to Contributing On and Off the Pitch

The Irish goalkeeper expressed his pride in joining a club like Everton and emphasised his commitment to helping the team on and off the pitch. He shared his desire to support the younger players in the squad and take pride in representing Everton with the right attitude in training and during matches. Travers aims to seize every opportunity that comes his way and contribute to the team’s goals.

Everton Strengthen Their Goalkeeper Options

Everton manager David Moyes moved quickly to secure Travers’ services after the club parted ways with Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia at the end of their contracts. With Travers now joining the squad, Everton adds depth to their goalkeeper options ahead of the upcoming season, ensuring healthy competition and cover in the position.
