Man U Players ‘Super Tired’ After Penalty Changes Game
Man U coach Ruben Amorim was annoyed about a penalty that totally flipped the game around, leaving his super, super tired team struggling near the end. The Red Devils only managed a 1-1 tie with Real Sociedad in the first game of their Europa League match, and a bit of bad luck really mattered. Manchester United Players ‘Really Tired.
Joshua Zirkee got United ahead in the 57th minute with a sweet first-time hit at the Reale Arena in Spain. But things went south in the 70th minute when Bruno Fernandes’ handball gave Sociedad a penalty, which Mikel Oyarzabal nailed. That goal changed everything, showing how tired United was and how they couldn’t finish chances.
Amorim Not Happy About the Penalty
After the game, Amorim said the penalty messed up his team. I thought we were in charge until the penalty, and then it kinda changed the game, he told TNT Sports. Manchester United Players ‘Really Tired.
Before that, United had the ball a fair bit, but their passes weren’t always great. Amorim knew his team had a tough time after giving up the goal, with players seeming worn out.
We had the ball a lot until the penalty, Amorim said. Our passes near the goal weren’t always great, but we had some good moments.
United Struggled at the End
After Oyarzabal’s goal, United looked bummed out, and they didn’t work as hard or make good choices. Sociedad took advantage, keeping the ball while United’s players seemed unsure and didn’t play like Amorim wanted.
One annoying moment for United fans was when Diogo Dalot didn’t pass to Rasmus Hojlund, who was open, and waited too long to pass. Amorim said that wasn’t a great move and said his players got tired, which led to bad passes.
The game changed, but it was clearly tiredness. We were slow to get to the ball, and even when we moved quickly, they were stronger those last 30 minutes, Amorim said. I felt our team was super, super tired in the last 30 minutes. We’ll deal with it at Old Trafford.
Looking Ahead to the Next Game
Even though things didn’t go great, Amorim still thinks United can win at Old Trafford. He knows there’s pressure at home but said they need to rest up first.
It’ll be a different game, he said. The pressure is on us at our place, and we gotta be ready. Resting up before Sunday and being ready for Thursday is key.
Amorim on United’s Season
Before this game, Amorim said the Europa League wasn’t that important to saving United’s season. He pretty much said no game could fix their bad season.
We have a lot of pressure, and people think this game is the only way to fix things, he said. I don’t see it that way. Nothing can fix our season because at this team, you gotta play well in every game. Manchester United Players ‘Really Tired.
Next Up: Arsenal
Man U now plays Arsenal at Old Trafford. It’s on Monday. Amorim hopes his players can rest up for this tough game since they’ve been tired.
