Liverpool in the hunt for Sesko
Fresh off their Premier League title triumph, Liverpool aren’t slowing down. According to Ben Jacobs via The Done Deal Show, the Reds are seriously considering a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. Arsenal have already shown strong interest, preparing a bid worth around £67 million (AU$140m), but Liverpool could swoop in if they decide not to pursue other striker targets like Alexander Isak or Hugo Ekitike. With their attack already dangerous, adding Sesko could make them even more lethal heading into the next campaign.
Sancho attracting interest from three clubs
Jadon Sancho’s future is once again in question. After a failed permanent move to Chelsea, the Manchester United winger has become a hot topic in the transfer world. According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa, Napoli, and AC Milan are all expressing interest in signing him this summer. Villa are particularly keen, especially if Marcus Rashford who’s been on loan doesn’t stay on. The main obstacle? Sancho’s massive £300,000-a-week wages, which were reportedly the dealbreaker for Chelsea. Any club that wants him will have to either meet those demands or convince him to take a pay cut.
Newcastle target new No.1
Newcastle United are also making moves. As per The Times, Burnley’s James Trafford is their top goalkeeper target heading into the window. With current keeper Nick Pope drawing interest from Leeds, manager Eddie Howe is eager to bolster his options between the sticks. Trafford had a standout season in the Championship and has been on Newcastle’s radar for some time. The 22-year-old came through Manchester City’s academy before making a permanent move to Burnley in 2023. A return to the Premier League could be next on his journey.
