Liverpool are poised to commence discussions with Feyenoord regarding the potential appointment of manager Arne Slot as they continue their quest to find a replacement for Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp, who has decided to leave the Reds at the end of the season has prompted Liverpool to embark on an extensive search for a new manager, exploring various candidates.
Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso was initially linked with the position, but he later confirmed his commitment to Bayer Leverkusen, who have since clinched the German championship.

Arne Slot, who guided Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title in the 2022/23 season, has emerged as a strong contender who aligns with Liverpool’s criteria.
Feyenoord, currently second in the Eredivisie and winners of the Dutch Cup this season, have been approached by Liverpool for discussions.
Slot had previously been linked with Leeds United following the departure of manager Jesse Marsch in February 2023. However, he withdrew from consideration for the Tottenham Hotspur job last summer before Ange Postecoglou’s appointment, subsequently extending his contract with Feyenoord until 2026.
Should Liverpool pursue Slot who has a contract which runs until 2026, negotiations for his services will necessitate a fee agreement with Feyenoord, as there is no release clause in his contract for this summer.
