A University of Ghana (Legon) student who was reportedly assaulted on the Okponglo road by artist Fameye in 2021 has revisited the ordeal.
Aside from the irresponsible driving that he first accused Fameye of, Dave has also accused the artist and his team of theft.
Taking to Twitter, he detailed how, around 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2021, Fameye drove dangerously near to the Okponglo traffic signal. He said that Fameye’s antics almost swayed the passenger car (trotro) he had entered.
He added that the life-threatening occurrence enraged all of the passengers as well as the driver, who alighted to confront the irresponsible driver when the light turned red.
According to Dave, it was then that they realized the popular Highlife performer was aboard the black Toyota Camry with a DV plate.
He said that when questioned, Fameye did nothing except “smile in the front seat nonchalantly.” Dave stated that it was a single action that prompted him to document the occurrence.
Dave stated that the men riding with Fameye beat him for doing so.
Dave went on to say that, in addition to attacking him, Fameye’s men snatched his iPhone 8 and left as soon as the traffic light turned green.
Following that, a case was filed against Fameye at the Legon Police Station, and Dave also filed an online report.
Fameye responded to the outrage by posting his side of the tale. He admitted to driving carelessly on the Okponglo road, as Dave had protested.
In contrast to Dave’s claim, Fameye stated that when the driver’s mate approached him, he apologized.
Although the ‘Nothing I Get’ hitmaker admitted that a phone was taken, he claimed it was because Dave hurled insults at him and his colleagues, nearly causing their vehicle to sway off the road.
Fameye went on to say that he thought the video was taken for clout at the time. This, he added, had the potential to tarnish the reputation he’d earned for himself.
He added in a tweet that he meant to return the phone the next day, but changed his mind when Dave reportedly gathered several keyboard warriors to verbally assault him on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Fameye has remained silent on the assault allegations leveled against him and his team.
