The central regional police commander, DCOP Alexander K. Amanyo is urging the general public to disclose every movement they seek to embark on to people who matter to aid in tracing their whereabouts should the need arise.
The regional commander made this call when addressing the participants of the Christian Mediators Forum in a maiden Stakeholders meeting held on September 22, 2022, at the Ghana Police Church, Cape Coast.
His call follows the recent murder of Georgina Asor Botchwey, a 25-year-old aspiring trainee nurse in Mankessim by Tufuhen of Ekumfi Akwakrom, Christopher Ekow Clark Quansah, and a self-styled pastor, Micheal Darko.

DCOP Alexander Amanyo revealed that the successful investigation into the murder by the police is due to the victim’s earlier contact with a young man prior to her disappearance and death.
He, therefore, advised the public not to be secretive about their movement but develop the habit of opening up to their family or trusted persons ahead of time before taking any journey.
“If you want to go somewhere and you want to hide it from your parents or neighbors or friends it is very wrong. If you will travel leave some trace with somebody and it can be the number of the person you are visiting. It doesn’t matter, it could be the clue when something happens.” He said.
He congratulated the participants for their commitment in helping to promote peace and security in Ghana and further called on the general public to assist the police in combating crime by reporting any suspected action.
“We have to brace ourselves and protect the citizenry…The government has a set of terrorist alerts with the call on the citizens, people like you to be highly observant and report suspicious persons and activities to the security agencies.
Remember the people are not coming in armored cars, they are not coming in airplanes but in a form of individual pastors or Sheikh or as benevolent people purporting to be doing community work. It means we need to be vigilant.” He continued.
The Christian Mediators Forum is a not-for-profit group that seeks to mobilize, train and support Christian mediators to promote and maintain peace and harmony in their respective communities.
CEO of the Forum, Rev. Dr. Isaac K. Koomson Spoke to ATLFM NEWS on the aims and objectives for its formation.
According to him, the group is supposed to serve Christians in the community.
“We are trying to mobilize the Christians so that they will be able to handle conflicts and problems and disputes that crop up among themselves. So, that is the purpose for forming the Christian Mediators Forum.” He said.
To him, such a move is needful to augment the government’s role in maintaining peace and security in and around us.
