Ghanaian musician Sonnie Badu, who is residing in the UK, performed a successful Rhytms of Africa concert at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, December 9.
The Baba hitmaker said that he had undergone significant surgery after a domestic mishap on his social media platforms, sharing photographs of himself on crutches before to the event.
Curiously, several online users asserted that Sonnie Badu was merely using the aforementioned household mishap to promote his next show.
Their suspicions may have been validated when Sonnie Badu took the stage and delivered an eclectic performance that would undoubtedly stay in the memories of attendees for a very long time.
For example, renowned sound engineer and music producer Fred Kyei Mensah, better known as Fredyma, praised Sonnie Badu and his crew for a well-planned Rhytms of Africa performance.

But when he said, “What happened to the crutches is another debate for, Jesus can heal a wounded spirit whole in a week,” he raised doubts, as did many others, about Sonnie Badu’s speedy recovery. Hey!
Furthermore, others argue that his popularity is too great for such practical jokes to be necessary to draw large crowds to events he headlines.

Sonnie Badu was supported by Zhikay Ike Junior, a member of the organizing team, in a Facebook post, claiming that his accident was real and not staged.
He disclosed that he had witnessed Sonnie in agony backstage following the performance, as the numbing effect of the injection had begun to wear off.
