In order to explain her absence from the stage during Esther Smith’s performance at the Perez Dome, gospel artist Lady Prempeh took to TikTok.
After a ten-year break, Esther Smith made her musical comeback at the event on Friday, August 30.
Lady Prempeh was scheduled to appear at the concert, however she was conspicuously absent from the list. The event featured a number of well-known gospel artists.
Lady Prempeh described the circumstances that prevented her from performing at the concert in a video posted on her TikTok channel.
She clarified that five months prior, she had been in communication with Esther Smith and had received invitations to play at events in Kumasi, Accra, and Takoradi.
She claimed that three weeks prior to the event, she received a call asking her to select just one performance out of the many acts scheduled.
She consented and decided to take part in the concert in Accra.

“Five months back, Esther Smith called me about a programme in Ghana in Kumasi, Accra and Takoardi and she would want me to perform at all three shows. So, I made her contacted my management and there was an agreement for me to perform at all three concerts.
“Fast forward, three weeks back my management spoke to me that the artistes billed for the concerts are many so I have to chose one region to perform and I chose to perform in Accra,” she narrated.
The gospel singer went on to say that even though she had committed to perform, there was no confirmation of the rehearsal schedule until the day of the event, when she received a call for a dress rehearsal.
“It was left with rehearsals and there was a back and forth with the rehearsals and I didn’t hear from them. My management tried to get in touch with them for a date but we couldn’t get one.
“Until on the day of the event which was Friday, I was told about a dress rehearsal and so I had to leave behind all my plans and go for the dress rehearsal till 2pm at Perez Dome,” she added.
After attending the dress rehearsal, Lady Prempeh stated she planned to perform in the main event.
She was notified by another artist on the morning of the show that her flyer had not been included in the advertising materials.
Even so, Lady Prempeh reasoned that it must have been a mistake because her manager had only spoken with the event organizers a week earlier.
She said she was at the concert the entire time, but she was surprised that she wasn’t asked to sing.
