Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Dominik Szoboszlai all came off the bench at half-time as Liverpool chased the game, but ultimately it was to no avail.
The Reds thought they had equalized in the seventh minute of added time, however Jarell Quansah’s goal was ruled out by the video assistant referee due to a controversial handball decision.
