Kojo Vypa has expressed his excitement over the award that he recently won at the Central Music Awards.
In an interview that he granted on ATL FM on 30th November, 2021, he said that receiving the award was a great feeling, as he has been waiting for this moment for a very long time. He also said that his joy is also as a result of this year being his first time winning an award. “….it was so exiting……like a dream becoming a reality. I was so exited that I didn’t know what to do when they mentioned my name and I asked myself if I am still dreaming”, he said.
He won the award on Friday 26th November, 2021 during the Central Music Awards Night which was held at the Center for National Culture in Cape Coast. He also spoke about how close his relationship with popular Ghanaian artist, EL is, and even said that EL had congratulated him during a phone conversation they had the previous day before the day of his interview.
When he was asked about how he felt when he lost to his fellow nominee last two years, he said that he felt very sad and extremely disappointed because he was really expecting to win and things did not work out as he had expected. He said, “………I felt like I worked hard for this and people even felt like it was supposed to be mine and I deserved it. The people knew what was best so I was okay with it.”
He proceeded to say that it made him work extra harder and he believes that his recent award is his reward for that. He also said that his fame does not make him feel ‘pomperous’ but rather make him feel the need to work extra hard because people are watching. He says that his fame motivates him more and keeps him on his toes to put more work into his preceding projects so that they would be better than the previous ones. He also spoke about how close his relationship with popular Ghanaian artist, EL is, and said that EL is like a ‘god father’ to him and had congratulated him during a phone conversation they had the previous day before the day of his interview.
He promised his fans to watch out for a concert that he and his team are working on and appealed for their prayers.
